about

Armen Piri Masihi is a film director based in Yerevan, working between Armenia and Europe.

Armen Piri Masihi is an Armenian director, visual auteur, and multidisciplinary storyteller whose work exists at the intersection of cinema, fashion, music, performance, and cultural production. Based in Yerevan and working internationally, he has built a distinctive creative language shaped by atmosphere, emotional intensity, sculptural imagery, and a refined cinematic sensibility. His visual world is both intimate and monumental — balancing sensual restraint, mythic symbolism, and a sophisticated command of movement, character, and mood.

Since 2012, Armen has developed a substantial international body of work, directing more than 60 commercial films and branded visual projects for major companies and high-profile clients in Armenia and abroad. His collaborations include leading brands and corporations. Across the commercial field, his work is recognized for transforming brand communication into cinematic experience — elevating advertising language through atmosphere, visual precision, and emotionally charged storytelling.

In parallel with his commercial career, Armen has directed more than 40 music videos and artist-led visual works for performers and productions across Armenia, the United States, Canada, Germany, Cyprus, UAE, and France. His music and fashion-oriented imagery is marked by a striking visual sophistication: sensual but controlled, theatrical yet modern, and deeply rooted in the emotional architecture of performance. Whether working in music, fashion film, or conceptual visual art, he approaches each frame with a director’s eye for composition, tension, and psychological depth.

Armen’s artistic practice extends beyond commercial and music-based work into television, opera, and large-scale cultural productions. Between 2017 and 2020, he directed 45 educational television programs for Armenian Public TV, followed in 2021 by 10 educational films dedicated to Armenian queens under the project Armenian Crowns. In 2018, he directed a major opera production presented with the support of Armenia’s First Lady, a work for which he was awarded a government gold medal in recognition of its cultural significance. In 2025, he served as the main director of the Barbud Music Festival concert in Yerevan, leading a major live performance production featuring 18 singers.

What defines Armen Piri Masihi’s work is his ability to move seamlessly between worlds: from luxury visual campaigns to intimate artist portraits, from stage and television to concept-driven cinematic pieces. His practice is rooted in visual authorship — creating images that are not merely decorative, but atmospheric, emotionally resonant, and narratively charged. With a career spanning advertising, music, opera, television, and live performance, Armen continues to shape a body of work that is both internationally minded and artistically singular: bold in image, precise in emotion, and unmistakably cinematic.
